"Terianne is a fount of knowledge! Her course inspires me to write without fear; to just get it down. She has given me insights and revelations about the craft. I keep having ‘a-ha’ moments! It’s refreshing having a teacher not trying to be 'nice' about everything! She’s supportive but she’s straight with you. Right now, I feel like a writer.“ --Victoria, UK

She provides real insight into what makes your particular writing sing and steers you away from stumbling blocks. The classes also have a great peer-to-peer feedback format and are enhanced by fun and creatively enabling exercises." --Antonia, UK
"I was never encouraged to pursue creative writing, having been told I was no good at English. I've been writing for a year and have never really considered my writing as worth very much. I had given my pieces to friends and the feedback was always positive, but friends have to say nice things! I joined Terrianne's writing class hoping to get some constructive feedback on my writing. I am getting so much more than that. I'm learning new techniques, understanding how changing the way one structures a few paragraphs makes a huge difference. Best of all is the encouragement to keep writing and know that I have something to give through my writing. Thanks Terianne." --Anisa, UK ************************************************************************
I'm on my third run of the workshop – truly no bull (with heart) and loads of actual writing and workshopping. Terianne has given me the gift of writing 'in flow', where the inner critic is silenced and my fingers tap away at that first draft. A godsend for the neurotic writer! --CS
Miss T’s writing class is nurturing, with a lovely light playful atmosphere, and great feedback. We take turns to read our work & be critiqued, as well as do exercises designed to unleash our creativity. In the critiques we just say what works and what doesn’t, and everyone is very encouraging and positive. I have really grown in confidence and style already. I came with a different writing style to everyone else - factual/ medical/ reportage etc, and they have been receptive and encouraging - that stems from Terianne. It has also stirred up embers of writing fiction in me that were buried very deep. The exercises are really fun & stretching, and some of the other writers are really accomplished - I have learnt so much. Terianne is a great teacher - she has a lot of experience in lots of different types of writing & her feedback is like gold. She always nails it & gets you present to the priorities of what you are writing for. If you are hesitating at all, just go for it. --Carlie, UK
"This is one of the best courses I’ve ever taken. It's called No Bull, i.e. a no bullshit course. This means, to me, you get a clear choice in how you write. With a lot of the course devoted to reading out a piece then getting feedback from the group and then finally from the excellent facilitator, you soon find out what the fundamentals of your style are and what works and what does not work. And sometimes it’s fine to continue with what does not work, but at least you’re responsible for it. In that space of responsibility, you find yourself working on and improving those elements which you’re happy to fine-tune – it does not mean you have to pander to everyone’s taste but you know fully well the sort of feedback you could potentially get if you continue writing the same way. In addition, it helps you accept criticism. If you can handle that effectively, it can only encourage you to continue writing. And thankfully, that’s what I’m doing. No Bull gives you the confidence to move forward and actually write. ” -Richard, UK
"This is my first time taking a creative writing course and it was such a refreshing experience with Terianne. Her group of students form a supportive writing community and display various styles and voice in their writings. I also particularly enjoy Terianne's writing exercises and her honest feedbacks to my writing. By the end of the 12 classes, I have been told that I am writing with more clarity. I would recommend this course to people who are interested in improving their writing skill." --Candy, China
“Terianne's course is transformational. I loved it so much that I signed up for the next one. This course has helped me face my fears and write! It’s also helped me with other weird things like hanging a picture wall, which I was procrastinating for a year because I didn’t know how to do it. Now it’s done and I’m ready for the next thing! Miss T is a great teacher and is able to encourage while providing constructive feedback. Being in this community of creative souls is the highlight of my week!” --Amber, Singapore

“I’m part of a great writing group - led by Terianne and I meet with 8/9 others, as a group, on zoom - from my bedroom in Brighton, UK twice a week for 2 hours. I haven’t done anything like this before - and so it is definitely challenging, as well as funny, inspiring and exciting. It feels brave to put something down on the page and to share it with my fellow writers in the group. Terianne holds that space brilliantly for us to share and to give and receive real engagement and feedback from each individual. It’s a humbling experience to have one’s words engaged with deeply and genuinely by each person in the group in turn - and to hear in detail about how one’s own writing lands with another.
This is thrilling and it’s through this process that I have started to learn about and engage with my voice. We don't know much about each other and yet there is such freedom in this. We get to know one another through the writing - so it’s a subtle and implicit journey - if that makes sense.
I really experience the push pull of wanting to write and then feeling a little overwhelmed by the challenge - being part of this group helps me to ride this wave with humor and courage. Its a thrill to be working alongside others in this way to access our creativity and to put something out in the world!” --Saskia, UK
"I came to discover Miss T's writing class through a friend of mine who described the experience as transformational in her emergence as a writer. With that kind of review, I had to sign-up. The crucial ingredient in Miss T's class is Miss T herself. Coming from a creative background further enriched by living in different parts of the world, Miss T brings a sense of worldly experience and inclusiveness to her class. The small (but cosmopolitan) classes function in an atmosphere of trust and discretion, allowing students to comfortably bare their most personal stories, while being open to politely constructive suggestions from other students and the teacher.
Each lesson is fluidly structured with a mix of reading and critiquing other students' pieces and then doing fun stretch exercises to force you outside your writing comfort zone. As I'm in Singapore and Miss T is in the US, these classes can run a bit late into the night for me. Before each class, given the timing I feel drained and reluctant to join, but afterwards I feel recharged and glad that I attended. Overall, I recommend this class for all levels, whether you're a first timer or an experienced author. There is always something to learn in every lesson from your peers and from Miss T." --Omar, Singapore
